Increased Open Positions Mean High Demand for Accounting, Finance, and IT Professionals
Companies are reporting an increased number of open accounting, finance, and information technology positions, according to the Brilliant Q2 2015 Accounting, Finance, and IT Hiring Forecast, which surveyed nearly 400 human resource professionals and hiring decision makers. Moreover, they are planning to fill the open roles as quickly as possible—indicating increases in business activity and overall strength in the labor market. An increase in competition likely will result in increased wages.
Thirty-nine percent of companies reported vacant accounting or finance positions, up from 30% in the first quarter. Fifty-eight percent reported unfilled IT positions, up from 37% last quarter. Thirty-five percent of companies plan to utilize additional temporary or contract IT professionals in the second quarter, an increase from 18% last quarter.
