Position: Finance Administrator
Rate of Pay: $16-18/Hour
Employment Type: Full Time; Temp-Hire

Coordinate the accounting/finance functions of the organization, upholding high standards for timeliness and accuracy. Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, manage accounts receivables and payables, and prepare monthly financial statements and reports. Inform management monthly, or as needed, on the status of the financial statements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

(with or without reasonable accommodations)
• Administer and conduct Month End Closing Process and accurately prepare Month End Reports for management
• Manage Accounts Receivable – prepare and submit invoices, post receipts, and follow up on outstanding receivables
• Manage Accounts Payable – receive and obtain invoice approval, code accurately for posting to General Ledger (G/L), prepare checks for timely payment, and maintain vendor relationships
• Reconcile all cash receipts, bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts monthly
• Manage payroll – collect and enter data, post biweekly activity to G/L, update payroll records, resolve payroll discrepancies, and maintain payroll operations according to the organization’s policies and procedures
• Coordinate employee benefits and organization insurances
• Coordinate the procurement process
• Prepare annual organization budget
• Develop budgets and related narratives for grant applications
• Manage deadlines/funding calendar activities

• Coordinate annual financial audit and tax return preparation with independent auditors


• 4 years of experience providing nonprofit accounting support
• Experience with preparing and managing budgets
• Ability to learn a systemic approach to accounting and follow it independently to maintain the integrity of the organization’s financial data
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, MS Office (particularly Excel), and Internet
• Proven competency in performing mathematical calculations accurately
• Ability to solve problems involving several variables
• Ability to organize complex information neatly and accurately
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – express and exchange ideas, convey detailed information, compose original correspondence, write reports, have effective interaction with people, and receive and process information from others
• Associate’s Degree or related experience
• Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment

Desired Background and Experience
• Medical billing/coding
• Working knowledge of disability rights and independent living (personal experience with disability a plus)
• 1+ years of experience working with individuals with disabilities
