Position: Client Advisory Associate
Rate of Pay: $18.00 to $21.00 /hour
Employment Type: Full Time; Temporary

A wonderful accounting firm in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Client Advisory Associate to join their team! This is a long term, temporary position with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right person.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares research memoranda and other documents to effectively convey guidance/conclusions
• Maintain consistent communication with partner, manager, and staff regarding engagement workflow, progress, and planning
• Ability to integrate and streamline various software platforms
• Understands various basis for accounting and when to apply each
• Develops detailed understanding of client systems; recommends software/processes for streamlining processing to manager and client; implements use of new software
• Understands payroll taxation and can prepare payrolls with accuracy
• Understands sales and use taxation (i.e., transaction privilege tax)
• Prepares fully documented trial balances
• Prepares payables/checks for multiple companies
• Completes variance analysis of income statements; explains significant variations
• Properly capitalizes improvements versus expensing repairs and maintenance
• Prepares effective drafts of client correspondence and reports; submits to supervisor and manager for review
• Participates in networking and recruiting events
• Contributes to the community through on-going volunteer work, community service projects, or service on a board of directors
• Contributes to the accounting profession through article writing, mentoring, or other activities
• Assists in the creation of digital content for marketing

  • Must pass a background check
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred; working to obtain CPA certification a plus;
  • Two to four years of experience in client advisory services in medium to large public accounting firm or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills;
  • Proficiency in US GAAP, GAAS, and GAGAS rules and standards;
  • Demonstrated experience in practice development and business development;
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites;
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
