Corporate Directors Forecast Stronger Economy in 2014
Public company directors are confident the economy will improve next year, according to a new quarterly survey by the National Association of Corporate Directors. The NACD Board Confidence Index found that 46% of those polled expect better economic conditions in 2014. For this year’s fourth quarter, though, 68.9% of corporate directors surveyed believe the economic picture will remain mostly unchanged from the previous three months. Respondents also stated that the hiring outlook for the rest of this year likely would be flat, with 64% noting that they will retain the current number of staffers.
