Companies Flock to Cities With Top Talent
According to the WSJ, the shortage of skilled workers is prompting many big companies to make location decisions based on the population of desirable workers in a given region. For example, approximately 50% of corporate real-estate executives rated talent availability as the leading consideration in moves and expansions, according to a CBRE Group Inc. poll of 229 executives. Denver, CO and Raleigh, N.C. are popular cities with a high number of college graduates. Reported by L. Weber. (We just visited with a company that may be relocating to Tucson in the near future and their number one concern was the availability of talented labor).
