All the Whole World Wants is a Good Job According to Gallup Research
Over the past 100 years the great global dream has changed “from wanting peace, freedom, and family to simply wanting to have a good job.” That’s what Gallup chairman and CEO, Jim Clifton, told the American Staffing Association President, Richard Wahlquist. According to Gallup research, “of the 7 billion people on earth, 3.2 billion are adults who dream of having a “good job” and a “good job” is defined as 30+hours a week for a paycheck. Currently only 1.3 billion people have “a good job” and that means the world is currently short about 1.9 billion good jobs. Clifton went on to say that this was one of the most important discoveries Gallup has ever made. Those who have a “good job” may not think they do but when you look at these numbers, it’s nice to know you have a “good job.”
