40-Hour Work Week Is a Thing of the Past
How many people really work “nine to five” these days? About half of all managers work more than 40 hours/week as reported by EY in a recent survey of almost 9600 full-time employees in 8 countries. Employees report that their responsibilities at work have increased while wages continue to stay flat and it’s getting harder than ever to balance work and life. Many forward-thinking corporations are addressing this need by offering flextime, a variety of PTO options, and wellness days off but there are others that still continue to work in the old mode and make it hard for employees to take the much-needed time off to reset, recharge, and spend time with their families and friends not to mention their favorite pet.
